As we all said on the discord chat, let's not rely on the height so heavily. The height of the characters isn't always consistent :P Going by looks alone I said it's Connie. Whilst reading I knew that soldier had to be someone significant and from Paradis. I first thought Armin but I thought he didn't resemble Armin at all. Then I had to remind myself of all the male SC members and I literally gasped and said "Connie"! Haha, at least that's my reasoning since that realisation hit me so suddenly.
So people are saying it's pretty much confirmed that Zeke isn't siding with Eren. I still disagree with that. Even though he transformed, he didn't do much in terms of fighting the SC. He's probably putting on a show for the other warriors.
I've said many times before, Zeke's royal blood has to be important soon. Not Historia's, we've already moved past her blood. Why suddenly bring up a character we've already gone through again? It doesn't make sense to do that and completely ignore a role Zeke probably needed to play eventually.
Anyway, even if he doesn't help out Eren, Levi had him in a corner last time. Levi almost killed him. We know Zeke is scared to death of Ackermanns. Who's to say he won't be captured and Levi threatens him to cooperate and help them? Even if Levi ends up having to kill him, he'd still have that royal blood. I don't see why being in contact with a royal blooded corpse would be any different.
I'm also putting the plot of the live action movies into consideration. The director said he wanted to follow the manga as close as possible. We've already seen elements that were in the movie show up in the manga.
Dina would have to be a cheater then now wouldn't she?
Eh, whatevs if she turns out to be. Carla was always the better pick in my opinion anyway.
I wouldn't mind it. I don't know why so many people were hating on it. It's not like it delayed season 2 of the original. I thought it was cute.
We need some cute and funny as a break from all the death and despair.
I'm okay with waiting two years till the anime is finished. That actually doesn't sound too bad compared to others. Bleach just barely ended last year. I like anime that doesn't carry on for years and decades on end. Of course I'm not counting the breaks of no new episodes of AoT. And damn, this season was worth the wait! I really don't mind all the waiting. I've got the manga after all. And do we really want filler episodes and arcs muddying up the anime? I know I don't.
Damn! From the part where Historia did those graceful flips in the air to the middle Pause my heart was beating like I just finished sprinting! Of course there were scenes I wish weren't left out but I believe the intensity they gave us in this episode made up for it.
I hardly ever cry or even get emotional but Ymir saying goodbye to Historia was a punch in the heart. I don't really care for ships, so this is from a neutral point of view. It's sad for a friendship too.

That's funny when Reiner tells about friends in Paradise lol. (Potato devil XD)
But he doesn't mention Historia... :O
Pffff, I had an eyebrow raised while reading what Reiner was saying about everyone. It sounded like he was trying to make up the 'horrible' things they did by over-exaggerating and twisting minor incidents x3
Also like he was trying to keep enforcing the belief that the walled Eldians are devils. Another thought too, maybe he's trying more to convince himself. I did get the feeling that part of him knows that what he was saying was ridiculous and he's lying to himself. Though that other part of him is trying to show him all this 'proof' that the walled people are all evil. Of course this part of him is louder and trying to hush up his rational side.
If the shiganshina trio and the rest of the squad doesn't show up next chapter I hope Annie's dad will. I still really feel like he'll be playing a bigger role soon. With this chapter especially, since some of the families are shown now and we have their side of the story.
Forgive me for saying but I really don't think Annie's coming back alive. If she's not already dead she probably will be soon. Even if we come to find out there was never a curse or whatever, the military isn't going to suddenly trust her to let her walk free or help. There's been too much damage done. They'd probably have her fed to someone trustworthy enough to become a shifter and aid the scouts. Anyway, where I'm going with this is, whatever we imagined Annie will do when she comes back, it will be her dad in that roll instead. Feel free to voice your all's thoughts!
Oh god damn! That was a creepy as hell song! I think I'll just be skipping ahead to the preview everytime.
It's the first of the season so I wasn't expecting to have a lot happen within it, still I enjoyed it. I am looking forward to the rest of the season! Mike's death made me very sad though. I had a hard time watching it :<
I was hoping these 12 episodes would at least be an hour in length. I'm not so much disappointed with the number of episodes in this season, but I'm only hoping they didn't try to stuff all this story into only 12 24 min. episodes. I feel there'd be a lot missing, which is what I would find disappointing. So far with how this episode went, I'm hopeful it'll all work out and season 2 will be awesome.
It sounded like the Marley is everyone's problem since they obviously made more enemies instead of only the Eldians. Regardless whether Ymir Fritz was a tyrant in the past or not, the Marley have definitely become the worse offenders. They're at war with 2 different nations here. I suppose they got too full of themselves and started trying to take over everywhere else.
On a side note. I can totally see Zeke being the one to sacrifice himself to somehow eradicate all Titan powers. Given he comes to his senses eventually, hahaha xD

But what's in it for Eren if he joined them and turned his back on everything he fought for? It's not like they would treat him any better than life behind the Walls did because they caused the deaths of many people in Shiganshina.
I didn't mean Eren should or would go to the other side with Zeke. I'm merely suggesting what Zeke may be wanting to happen. As implausible as it may be. Though, I'm sure once Eren and co. learn of more things, they'll be full of conflicting internal feelings. Also when we the readers and the characters get some more blanks filled in, it'll be confusing as hell for all of us :/ One thing seems for certain though, the Marley need to go. It's sounding like they're the whole world's problem.

I'm happy to share my thoughts with anyone that curious so no worries :)
We know that Zeke turn in his parents when he was still a kid, he has a great loyalty to Marley Gov and he's smart enough to know that Grisha was using him, then he received security and care from Marley Gov in return of his help. The Marley did this because they know Zeke would be a great asset to them. The one thing Zeke don't see is Marley Gov want to use him the same way his parents did and he sees them as true family, until now when they plan to replace him with someone else. At this point the only one he can really trust is himself
I'm not saying Zeke don't care about Eren, he probably do because Eren might be the only one who would understand him completely. But after what happened in their first encounter, he would be a fool to think that Eldians of Paradise will accept him. Getting the coordinate is the key to fix this
I see. I'm not sure exactly where I was going with my thoughts completely. The only thing I'm fairly certain of is that Zeke doesn't want Eren to be used by their dad like he was, therefore he wants to save him from the fate Grisha chose for him. At least this is what it sounded like to me and what I put together. Whether Zeke knows a potential way or not, I have no guesses on it. At the moment, I think all he wants to do is save Eren. He seemed quite sincere last time he encountered him.
As for allegences, you're right, I can never see the Eldians of the walls accepting him. Or any of the warriors for that matter. There's too much bad blood between all of them. Maybe Zeke wants Eren to join the Marley's cause too. I can't see Eren going to their side either. Hell, maybe Zeke just wants to share his warrior benefits with Eren. Maybe their grandparents are still alive and Zeke wants all of them together. Who knows. What ever will happen with this tangled mess and how it will smooth out (or not smooth out) I can't even predict right now. It seems to be at a crossroads with the warriors and walled Eldians. All I know is somebody better agree with somebody real quick or the Marley will keep getting away with all of this and nothing will change. I don't know who the Eldians in Marley territory and the warriors think they're kidding. I've said it once and I'll say it again. There's a Pixar's Bug's Life thing going on here, though, with some Stockholm syndrome added in.
Erdagon wrote: Why is everyone wanting Zeke to side with the Eldian? He could betray Marley but I doubt he will then help his little bro, I think all he wants is the power of progenitor titan. Not to mention that he will make a great enemy to both Eldian and Marley
If I may ask, what makes you think that? I'm not asking in a rude way. Promise. I truly am interested in hearing your thoughts about that. Because for me personally, I don't see him only wanting the progenitor titan's power. He really did seem to care about Eren. Please do share what you're thinking :)
I'm looking at all of Zeke's words now. I've already explained about him saying he was going to 'save' Eren, I'm thinking about how he also told Eren Grisha brainwashed him. You know, not telling Eren about the shortened life span, using Eren like he was doing with Zeke. Grisha seems to like using his kids to finish his to do list. I'm thinking what Zeke meant with brainwashed, he was really telling Eren Grisha used him. Assuming he's being a caring older brother, he doesn't want Eren to have to be their dad's pawn and suffer with the cursed life Grisha chose for him.
Zeke ain't just there to be the beast Titan and for the story to have a brother vs. brother element.
I was thinking something as well. Perhaps Zeke does know of some kind of 'cure'. Maybe that's what he meant when he said he'd take Eren back and 'save' him. I can see Zeke surviving and joining Eren and co. I thought it odd though that even though Zeke is much older than Reiner, and Reiner is on his final stretch of life, Zeke is still alive. I'm hoping there's going to be something to this delay in Zeke's death.
As for Annie, yeah crystal or not, her time is still being counted down. If it were true the crystal somehow made them invincible to the curse, why hadn't any of the other shifters from before crystallised? The crystal is irrelevant.

they are going to be new protagonists. hint: they are eldians who have been taught false history about their own kind, the ones in the wall. just think for a moment if reiner tells them what the wall people are like. how would they react to being told that all they have been taught is false and the eldians inside the walls were also victims?
I think gabi, falco and co. will go against marley
And Reiner/Zeke too please. I don't want them to die xD
They'd have to find an alleged cure to save them though. As I've said before, either the Eldians need to find a Titan cure or they all need to be wiped out to end this. Otherwise The Titan curse will keep being repeated and all the Eldians efforts for freedom will be for naught.
I took chapter 91 as a hint to us readers that Annie is dead. That one line about the female Titan being one of the 9 they lost. I know they don't know Annie is not dead, but I took that part as a hint for us. Especially the fact that they said the colossal Titan was lost too, which is now Armin. I really believe Annie is dead and the next time we see her we'll be seeing a sort of flashback and who she was fed to or something. She'll be dead soon enough anyway, Reiner's time seems like it's coming to an end since the Marley are deciding who they'll feed him to. I'm more than assuming Annie became a shifter around the same time as Reiner and Bertolt. Or maybe even before them. I've been thinking also, perhaps that's what Annie's dad was apologising to her for in her memories. I'm guessing he knew something about her going to be titanized and having a short life. Though, I don't believe he was the one that made her become a warrior, just for his own sake. No, there's more to him than what seems and more we need to learn about him. I feel he'll be a key character really soon.
