Attack on Titan, The Movie: Part 2, also known as Attack on Titan: End of the World (進撃の巨人 エンド オブ ザ ワールド Shingeki no Kyojin Endo obu za wārudo?, lit. Attack on Titan End of the World) is a live-action movie, directed by Shinji Higuchi and written by Yusuke Watanabe and Tomohiro Machiyama, based on the Attack on Titan manga created by Hajime Isayama.

It was released in Japan on September 19, 2015, and is slated for a US & Canada released on October 20. It is the continuation of Attack on Titan, The Movie: Part 1, released earlier on August 1 (Japan) and September 30 (US & Canada).[1]

Plot

The movie follows the story started in the first Attack on Titan live-action movie. The movie starts off with a recap of previous events. 100 years ago, Titans suddenly invaded and devoured most of humanity. The survivors built three walls to keep them out, lasting a century of uneasy peace. Eren Yeager, his girlfriend Mikasa, and their friend Armin lived in the outer wall. They vow to journey outside the Walls one day after discovering the ocean once existed. However a Colossal Titan appears and kicks a hole in the wall, allowing Titans to enter and eat the citizens. Mikasa is believed to be eaten. Two years later, Armin and Eren reunite after signing up for the Survey Corps, a group who will go and plug in the wall using explosives. Eren reunites with Mikasa, who has developed a stoic and melancholy approach due to her failure to save a baby from the Titans and getting bitten by one herself. Eren wants to face the Titans but loses his leg to one. She became a squad commander under Shikishima, humanity's strongest soldier. When the Bloated Titan grabs Armin, Eren pulls his friend out of its mouth, taking his place. In the Titan'a stomach, Eren vows to eradicate them, awakening his dormant power to transform. He turns into the Rogue Titan and kills the other Titans, with several managing to retreat. The Rogue Titan suddenly collapses. Realizing Eren is the host, Mikasa cuts him out of the evaporating carcass so Eren isn't lost. Covered in the guts of his Titan form, Eren is pulled out as the others realize why the nape of the neck is the Titan's weak spot.

The movie then moves to the present day. Eren wakes up, bound and gagged. He is surrounded by the Military Police Brigade, led by Kubal, who deem him a threat. They wonder what side he is really on, humanity's or the Titans. Before they can kill him, Armin realizes his value and steps forward. He says that Eren isn't a threat to humanity and gives a speech, promising to give his life and worth as a soldier. However, Kubal refuses to listen and orders Eren's execution. Before this can occur, an Armored Titan crashes through. It kills dozens of soldiers and captures Eren, removing his restraints. Eren is then taken to a mysterious location where he is met by none other than Shikishima, who proceeds to reveal the Titans' origin as military experiments gone wrong from a century before.
