He could've let the others live, but he chose to kill them, and that makes him a terrible person.
Alma did nothing but resent Historia, who did nothing wrong to begin with, and to say those awful words to her were what sealed her fate, not her daughter.

Exactly, but it doesn't make him a bad parent.
Actually, it does.
Considering keeping them alive could have resulted in his imprisonment/execution/disappearance, as well as the continuance of the Reiss succession ritual, it makes more sense for him to kill them all. In fact, had he succeeded, Rod would have never shown Eren what happened. And as bad as Eren is with using any portion of the Coordinate, he likely would have never found out. At least, until someone explained how Titan Shifters are created.
I partially agree that he was a bad parent for having Eren eat him so he can be a Titan Shifter, regardless of his reasons. Him trying to kill off the Reiss family doesn't figure in it for me. As I said, had he succeeded, no one would have known. I agree that Alma was a terrible mother. I agree that Kenny was somewhat of a terrible replacement parent, I don't think he should have abandoned Levi. It's hard to say about Armin's parents. The assumption was that they were the couple trying to fly outside the walls in a hot air balloon. But if the translation I saw was right, it might not have been, his parents died after being sent of to reclaim Wall Marie. Though, I guess both scenarios could be true, since no time frame was given for each event, so... And I guess Annie's dad was just doing what he thought was best, that, and we don't know exactly what he has to apologize for. But other than that, parents in the series have seemed pretty okay in my opinion, from what little we get to see of them.
I don't think that Grisha was a bad person, simply because he did what his conscience deemed necessary at the time. The deed itself may have been bad, he may have done more than was strictly necessary, any number of other nuances, but Grisha himself did what he believed was right, and for that he shouldn't be labeled a "bad person" any more than Levi, or Eren, or anybody else who, in the course of following their conscience, made a mistake.
It doesn't matter if he felt it was necessary, the fact remains that, while he killed the owner of the Coordinate, he killed innocent people; it didn't matter if the Reiss members that didn't have it were likely immoral.
@Aggression25 Yeah, and Eren killed innocent people when he wrecked Stohess chasing Annie. Is he a bad person? Don't get me wrong, it's a tragedy when ANYONE dies, regardless of their personal thoughts or convictions. But it's like Captain Levi said: "All you can do is follow your conscience."
About Annie's dad, was he really? When did we learn that? I mean, I thought he was still a mystery at this point. Maybe I'm forgetting something though... it's been a few months since I got a good chance to read the manga.
Don't forget that Eren just recently learned of his Titan abilities; amateurs are screw-ups, so they're never perfect or precise. You can't expect him to master it all instantly with very little experience.
Any kills that he committed as a Titan can be held against his father, who forced him to become a Titan. He'd be guilty by association only.
