Summary
The graduate cadets pledge to serve humankind
The 104th Cadet Corps' closing ceremony begins. Senior cadet representative Mikasa Ackermann is called first, and she pledges on behalf of her fellow cadets to use the training they have endured for the sake of humankind. Commandant Keith praises Mikasa, telling her that any regiment would be proud to accept her as a recruit.
The commandant witnesses his cadets' growth
Eren Jaeger starts reading an address of appreciation, reflecting upon their classroom studies, hand-to-hand combat, and omni-directional mobility training. Witnessing his cadets' growth, the commandant sheds a tear of joy. As he announces the end of the graduation ceremony, the Colossal Titan suddenly appears.
Eren remembers all the times the Titan had appeared in and terrorized him, and vows to pay it back by showing it the results of his training. Eren, Mikasa, and Armin charge the Titan along with a group of other graduates, but they all end up eaten. Inside its stomach, Eren laments that their training did not work, to the commandant's shock, who questions if they have learned nothing all this time.
