Fishing Paradise (フィッシングパラダイス Fisshinguparadaisu?) is the 20th chapter of the 2nd volume and the 47th chapter overall of the Spoof on Titan manga, written and illustrated by hounori.
Overview
Jean and Marco spend a day fishing, but they are not alone.
Summary
Jean and Marco are out fishing but have had no luck. Jean asks Marco if he can pretend to take his bait to remind him of how it feels to catch fish, but Marco is hesitant, saying that he will think about it. Jean becomes impatient and eats their bait, a loaf of bread, but Marco yanks it away and reminds him that he skipped breakfast just to get it. Due to Jean's hunger, Marco wonders if he could have caught him if his fishing rod had a hook on it.
Jean asks Marco to bet
Jean asks if he wants to bet on who gets the first catch, but Marco immediately catches one. Later, Jean asks who among the girls from the 104th class is Marco's type to pass the time. Marco proposes that he will tell him if he guesses correctly on the first try. Suddenly, Jean gets his first catch and boasts about its size.
Marco spots Eren and his friends fishing downstream, and Jean gets annoyed, saying that they should have fished somewhere else. Nonetheless, he and Marco get closer, and he overhears Armin teasing Eren about his fishing luck. This encourages Jean to believe that it was a good decision to have gone fishing that day. When he heads back to their spot, he notices that his fishing rod has gone missing. From downstream, he hears Eren panic over catching a fishing rod. Jean begs Marco to pretend that the rod is his and retrieve it from Eren, with Mikasa eavesdropping nearby.
Jean and Eren end up skipping stones
Some time later, Jean faces Eren upfront and asks how many fish he has caught so far. They begin arguing and decide to settle the score through a competition to see who can catch the most fish before sunset. However, they end up skipping stones because they both got tired of waiting.
Jean and Eren pause their competition after seeing that neither of them caught any fish. Armin, holding a basket of catch, suggests that they cook the fish for dinner. Jean and Eren are amused by the large quantity, and Mikasa reveals that she had used a net to scoop the fish from the stream.
The five then sit around a bonfire and eat the fish they collectively caught. Eren comments that they taste delicious, but he adds that eating them does not sit right with him.
