Fukushi (フクシ Fukushi^?) was a new recruit for the Scout Regiment in the live-action film Attack on Titan. He was portrayed by Shū Watanabe.

Appearance

Fukushi had short black hair, with the majority of it combed to the left. He wore the standard Scout Regiment uniform.

Personality

Fukushi, like many other recruits, joined the Scout Regiment for money after he was unable to find a job elsewhere. He had a sense of devotion towards his girlfriend Lil, acting as an emotional support for her and promising that he would keep her safe. They had both planned to get married after they returned to the Walls.

Story

Attack on Titan, The Movie: Part 1

Fukushi and his girlfriend Lil are among the many civilians who join the Scout Regiment because they can not find jobs. On the night before their mission to repair the breach in the outer Wall, Jean and Eren get into a fight, and in his anger Jean claims that the other recruits will all die soon, agitating Lil and necessitating that Fukushi calm her down.

During their trip to Omotemachi, the scouts are forced to stop and survey the area when they hear movement nearby. The noise is discovered to simply be some nearby cattle, but before they can reenter their vehicles and depart, they soldiers are ambushed by Titans. The recruits are forced to proceed to Omotemachi on foot, only making the trek safely with the help of Shikishima and his squad.

During the night, Fukushi and Lil hide in a building to make out, but are interrupted by the arrival of Titans. Fukushi is quickly killed in the ensuing battle.

Relationships

Lil - Lil was Fukushi's lover, and they planned to get married after their first expedition.

Trivia

His name means "fuchsia" in Japanese.
His role in the film as well as his fate, is similar to that of Franz Kefka. Examples of this can be shown through his relationship with Lil, and the circumstances of his death, which shows Lil frantically trying to revive him, even though his body was bitten in half.
