Light up Your Passion (燃やせ、お前の情熱Moyase, Omae no Passhon?) is the 1st chapter of the 9th volume and the 60th chapter overall of the Attack on Titan: Junior High manga, written and illustrated by Saki Nakagawa.
The drama festival begins, but Eren's class is challenged by a couple of things that ultimately sabotages the first half of their play. Hitch, who is behind the disruption all along, admits that she had planned everything out of jealousy. Will Eren and his class be able to make the most out of their play?
Story
Jean offers to take over Eren's role
Before the drama festival starts, Eren recalls the challenges the class went through to produce the play. When he exits the backstage, he panics upon seeing that the majority of the audience is composed of Titan students, prompting him to confront their teacher, who tells him that it is a common occurrence every year. While Eren sulks, Jean, playing as a horse, offers to switch roles since he had unintentionally memorized Eren's lines after much recitation, but Eren refuses. As Jean walks away, he is called by an unknown figure backstage, who offers to help him escape his horse role as long as he ruins the play.
Meanwhile, Armin runs lines with Eren, who is worried for his own subpar performance. Armin is later called onstage by Mikasa for his scene, in which he plays as a rabbit with other animals. He and the other actors act out a scene where they eat vegetables, but they eventually find out that the real vegetables were switched out for fake ones made out of wax, causing all of them to choke. Nonetheless, the actors act out the rest of the scene leading up to the climax of the play, where the princess, played by Krista, enters. To everyone's surprise, Reiner comes out in a princess dress, abandoning his wall costume onstage, while Krista is nowhere to be seen.
Hitch is jealous of Eren's class play
Reunited backstage, the class sulks over the outcome of the first half of the play. As they reflect on the incident, Hitch spies on them from behind a curtain, revealing her to be the culprit. When Marlowe confronts her about her plans, Hitch explains that she finds it unfair how Eren's class play is a fairytale drama, while their play is a comedic parable involving marine animals and Titans. Hitch, who is dressed in a squid costume, insults Eren's class out of jealousy and admits that she merely wanted to play the role of a princess. Marlowe consoles her by pointing out that the audience is full of Titans and no human is watching, which stops her from crying and convinces her to let go of Krista, whom she had trapped in the Student Council room. However, Eren spots the both of them and ridicules their costumes. When he asks if they have seen Krista, Hitch lies, saying that they have not.
Backstage, Armin suspects that the mysterious figure he saw earlier during his scene is the same person who kidnapped Krista and sabotaged their play. Before Eren can run away to look for Krista again, Ms. Reiss assures them that she will take care of it and asks Armin for more information about the figure. Armin notes that the figure appeared to be a squid. While Ms. Reiss thinks about the culprit, Eren reminds the class that the second half of the play will start in a minute, giving them no time to look for Krista. With this, they decide to improvise and do their best to make a bearable show.
