Attack Mode is the story mode of Attack on Titan
General Information Attack Mode consists of 25 story missions in across a prologue, three chapters, and an epilogue that cover the first season and a half of the anime . Mission difficulty is listed by a number of stars (☆) ranging from 1 to 10.
The first time through an Attack Mode mission the player must play as the assigned character for the story. However, on replaying the mission after completion the player is able to use any unlocked character even if it would not sense from a story perspective.
If the player uses someone else for missions where they would normally control Eren Jaeger in his Titan form, Eren will still be present as an AI.
Epilogue While most missions unlock as soon as the previous one is complete, epilogue missions must be unlocked by doing the optional Survey Missions . For each survey region that is 80% complete, a new epilogue mission will unlock.
Dire Subjugations Dire Subjugation Targets are optional bosses that appear after satisfying specific conditions in a given mission. There is a Dire Subjugation for every Attack Mode mission.
They become available once the player completes Chapter 3 - Episode 7: Soldiers Dance.
Some Dire Subjugation Targets are Bizarre Titan variants of the Female , Armored , and Beast Titan bosses.
True Attack Mode True Attack Mode is unlocked after the player has completed all Attack Mode missions, including the five belonging to the epilogue. It is identical to the regular Attack Mode except that difficulty settings no longer have an effect and the difficulty level is much higher. Titans are more aggressive and have much more health.
True Attack Mode is the only way to obtain most S-rank materials for the best equipment in the game.
