Lynne (リーネ Rīne?) was a member of the Survey Corps in Squad Mike.[3]

Appearance

Lynne had long, dark, messy hair that she kept in a ponytail with her bangs parted down the middle. She wore the traditional uniform of the Survey Corps with a white shirt underneath.

Personality

Lynne was serious about her job, but considered the feelings of the people around her. While she was serious about her mission and objectives, she took the time to make Connie Springer feel better about the seemingly hopeless situation in his hometown by convincing him that everyone escaped without being eaten by Titans when Wall Rose was supposedly breached.

Story

Clash of the Titans arc

Lynne is one of several soldiers brought by Mike Zacharias to oversee a group of potentially untrustworthy Survey Corps members.[4]

Before an investigation can begin, Titans appear within Wall Rose. Mike orders the group to split into four squads to warn the nearby villages. Lynne is in the south squad, headed by Gelgar.[5] Lynne comforts Connie Springer when he fears his family had been eaten by Titans while they investigate his hometown, reasoning that they probably escaped due to the lack of blood and bodies.[6] The squad rejoins with Nanaba and Henning's squad after failing to find any breach in Wall Rose. As night falls, the two groups take refuge in Utgard Castle.[7]

Utgard Castle soon comes under attack from numerous Titans capable of moving during the night.[8] While fighting, Lynne realizes that smaller Titans have infiltrated the castle and orders the recruits to put up barricades inside to hold them off. Later, Lynne and Henning separate from Gelgar and Nanaba to check on the recruits again and are both struck by a projectile thrown by the Beast Titan, killing them instantly.[9]

Legacy

Return to Shiganshina arc

Later in the Battle of Shiganshina, as Erwin Smith begins to lament the dwindling hopes of his dream, Lynne stands among the many fallen Survey Corps comrades in Erwin's mind, wanting to know if their deaths had meaning.[10]

Trivia
