Ori no naka de hoete iru no wa hatashite dochira ka

Why did the earth and heavens separate from one another?
Though the world may be cruel, it can also be beautiful.
Those that throw the stones and those who are in turn hit by them,
between the two sides stands a fence not crossed so easily.
But by changing where we stand, justice will come to bare its fangs.
So who is it really that’s been left howling within the cage?
The hearts offered to a dusk we can no longer get back.
Will paradise wait for us at the end of this ever-continuing night?
Requiem, Requiem
O’ nameless flower who lost its petals tonight.
Please, rest peacefully when dawn breaks.

Requiem Requiem
Requiem Requiem
Requiem Requiem
この夜に散った咎なき花よ
せめて安らかに暁に眠れ
そしていつか語るなら
絡みつく因果断ち切って
なぁ友よ 壁のない暁に逢おう

Requiem of Daybreak
Daybreak and twilight embrace the same lonesome colours.
The birds flying by paint shadows on the earth below them.
Those that slaughter the will of others, and those whose wills are slaughtered,
between the two sides stands a wall not so easily taken down.
But if you wish to know the truth, the world will come to collapse.
Is the sky you’ve admired in your cage really the freedom you seek?
The flower bouquets offered to a promise that won’t be kept.
Paradise slowly recedes from sight at the end of this ever-continuing road.
Requiem, Requiem
O’ fleeting flower who lost its petals that night.
Please, rest peacefully when dawn breaks.
If you wish for freedom, what will be taken away?
Will we get back again what has been taken away?
The《killing intent》(bow) is drawn out to its limit...
The world is simple to understand, but that it is exactly why it’s so complex.
The same tragedies keep repeating time and time again…
Requiem, Requiem
O’ innocent flower who lost its petals one night.
I wish you’ll get to rest peacefully
when dawn breaks. ― And if one day my wish will come true,
and the entwining karma will be severed,
then, aa, my dear friend,
let us meet at a daybreak where there are no walls around us...[1]
Ending animation
It begins with a field of flowers and butterflies. A bird then flies in and upward over the wall. While the bird is flying fields and two Titans walking towards the wall are seen. When the bird is no longer seen, light from the sky is shown shining down through the clouds on top of the wall.
A young Historia Reiss is then seen with a bouquet of flowers looking up at the sky. The bird then reappears flying toward the Shinganshina district then up again toward the shining sun over the wall.
A pebble is thrown at Historia's feet and she falls into a puddle of water continuing downward. A silhouette of young Historia is shown then to young Eren Jaeger and his father, Grisha Jaeger walking into the forest. Historia turns around and sees Ymir as she rapidly transforms from a child to her current age. Ymir holds out her hand smiling. When Historia tries to grab it, her hand goes through Ymir's, and Historia then falls as the background turns to black.
A flag with the Cadet Corps emblem blowing in the wind is then shown with Eren, Mikasa Ackermann, Armin Arlelt, Jean Kirschtein, Annie Leonhart, Sasha Braus, Ymir, Bertholdt Hoover, Reiner Braun, Marco Bodt, Conny Springer, and Historia all saluting.
Young Historia's foot is seen stepping on some flowers while running with a red droplet of blood ripples after taking her next step. It then shows her running through the field of flowers with Frieda Reiss appearing at the end with a smile on her face. Young Historia stops running and is shown at her current age with the farmyard from her childhood memories at sunset.
