- Attack on Titan Anthology
Sophie is Bertolt Weill's lover and the protagonist of Bahamut, the ninth story of the Attack on Titan Anthology.
Appearance
Human
Sophie has dark skin, short white hair, and dark eyes with a beauty spot under the left eye. She wears a white dress and shoes with a hat and a necklace.
Titan
As a Titan, Sophie keeps her human features.
Story
Sophie meets her lover Bertolt, noting he is late. They go to the forest and have a picnic. They light a fire and eat. As they are making out, Sophie pushes Bertolt back, removes her dress and transforms into a Titan.[1] They fall asleep naked and Sophie is awakened by the arrival of Survey Corps soldiers who attack her. Bertolt pretends to have been kidnapped by her, which angers Sophie. She tries to attack him but MakÅ Messer slices her arm and she runs away.[2]
The day of Bertolt's execution, Sophie arrives inside the town with other Titans. Noticing her lover, she saves him from being killed and exits the town. She releases Bertolt and he reminds her they were in love, to which she answers by glaring at him before leaving.[3]
Trivia
- Sophie changes into her Titan form by biting her thumb, just like Eren Jaeger in the main series.
- However, unlike Eren who is a human that turns into a Titan, Sophie appears to be a Titan who can take human form. This idea was theorized earlier in the story by Ezkebel. The idea of Titans being able to disguise themselves as humans originates from Attack on Titan Volume 0.
