Just an inquiry on where exactly this was said.

"Their relationship is implied to be some sort of rivalry. It's hinted that Annie doesn't like Mikasa for the simple fact that she may be a stronger hand-to-hand combatant, and that Mikasa resents Annie's constant rough treatment of Eren whilst teaching him her techniques."

Where is it said that Annie doesn't like Mikasa for the simple facts she 'may be' a better hand to hand combatant? I was just skimming through the page and saw this, and it seems like that's just some headcanon stuff that was added- I can't seem to find where this was even implied in the manga or anime. Unless it deals with the beast comment- which is very vague. And Annie being rough with Eren doesn't seem to be why Mikasa dislikes her. If this was the case, she'd be just as irritated with Jean and his constant fighting with Eren. Is this statement canon and backed by a source or is someone just adding stuff that they think is true? I don't think these things were ever stated in canon. The rivalry's definitely there, but the causes seem to be someone's headcanon. It should be removed unless someone can cite it. --GodKingReiss (talk) 23:34, June 16, 2016 (UTC)

Eye color

It's written that her eye color is blue, but in the pictures, they are clearly black.

Her nendroid has blue eyes. also, when she was remembering her past (the scene in which her dad brought an animal he had killed), her eyes widened, highliting her blue eyes. Her eyes must have gone a greyish color when her parents died, because she felt cold and lonely inside. But genetically, her eyes are blue. TitanJuice (talk) 02:24, February 11, 2014 (UTC)

So... Did you mean this one, or this one? Or maybe even this one? In episode 7 (not 8) in which she is saved by Eren/Rogue Titan, in which her eyes are black in each shot?

But since you were talking about episode 8 after all, have some close up shots of her face in episode 8 as well. Right here, here,here,here, and here. Lovely pictures of mikasa for your viewing pleasure.

Now, since you've proven yourself to be colorblind and thus not trustworthy of deciding the color of someones eyes, I'm just going to go ahead and pain myself to bother logging to fix this minor, but annoying mistake.

Everyone relax. While I agree that her eye color is most definitely black (as all promotional material have shown her as such), give Miskos a break will ya. Hey, my response was very snappy, and rude. I've encountered some people who say something that is incorrect regarding different things, and it really, really gets up my nose. I've ended up getting into some rather nasty 'discussions' with certain people who insist that it is correct despite many facts against them, and I do go overboard with things sometimes. There is one site that said that her eyes are blue not black. It seems that her eyes might be color less because when you look at the image when the sun shines on her the color of her eye isn't black. When I was looking at her character image very closely her eye color seems to be grey not black. The middle part of the eye is black put the side part looks gray. If it was black than everything would be darker but it doesn't look that way because part of it looks light (Not too light).Jennicious (talk) 20:34, September 20, 2013 (UTC)

Honestly at this point I think it's a bit too much to jump into the idea of grays/dark blue just because it's always highlighted in the anime. I've seen "black" hair, and "black" eyes get turned into different color hues (blue, brown, even the bizarre case of dark purple) despite the fact that they're labeled as "black" and it's mainly to do with highlighting their features for better visual recognition. Even in Western comics this tends to happen where black gets substituted with blue highlights because it's easier to tell what's going on. We also have cases where white/silver hair has been turned into light blue or pale purple/violet based on the same principle. Just leave it at black. While you can argue that the middle part of her eye is darker, this is only natural as the middle part of an eye is always darker than the outer ring. By highlighting her eye color more, it's easier for the anime to emote her emotions in traditional anime-style expressions (glints for surprise/anger/murderous intent, or lack of shine for sad/shocked/apathetic etc.) and this has been done before with other characters that have black eyes. Out of all the characters from SNK Mikasa is the only one that I noticed who's been consistently shown as having completely black eyes in promotional artworks/merchandise (in comparison to say Levi, who's actually depicted more as greyish blue despite being very close to Mikasa's eye color in the anime). With all those things considered I'd say just leave it as black for now.--DementedP (talk) 20:46, September 20, 2013 (UTC)

We don't even know her eye color to start with. The manga has her eyes consistently black (because it's black and white). The anime, however, has her eyes as gray, purple, green and blue. Total mystery. hfc 2X 03:25, November 23, 2013 (UTC)

Her eyes are not black that's only in the manga because it's not in color making her eyes black but that not the case in the anime. If your looking in the anime her eyes are not black if you look very closely. So could someone please change it. I really appreciate it. Mikasa's main image

I know that the current main image for Mikasa's infobox is a really good-looking mug shot, but do we have one of her with the shorter hair and scarf? I just find it odd that we'd still be using her appearance based on her longer hair when the majority of the series has her in her shorter hair. Not that I'm saying that I have good photos of her with her short hair, but I just thought it's something worth mentioning.DementedP (talk) 21:56, September 19, 2013 (UTC)

Mikasa's teamwork on Statistic

When I look at the Mikasa Statistics from this site: http://indulging-inaccuracy.tumblr.com/post/49673140889/official-stats-taken-from-the-character-guide. Shouldn't her teamwork should be 6/10 instead of 5/10. When complaring Her and Eren it looks so far about but when compairing to Sasha it seems to be the same. I apologize for not adding more on Eren and Mikasa's pages. I do intend to contribute more detailed content regarding their Story section similar to how I did for Annie's page (whom I've more or less used as a trial of sorts to serve as my template). I've simply been busy with University finals so it's stopped me from heavily editting any of the pages. That said once I'm done, I'd be more than happy to add and fix the content on Eren and Mikasa's pages (followed closely by Armin who himself has very little stuff despite being a central character). Her weight and height

Sorry but I think there're so problem about Mikasa's height and her weight. With these numbers, 170cm and 68kg that mean Mikasa is quite fat and not good looking. Man i have been thinking the same since the day i first saw it. Mikasa's heigt i nice but the analogy between her heght and kilos actually sucks for a girl. Eren is a boy and he has the same height with Mikasa ( 1.70m ) but he is 5 kilos less ( 63 ). Also, even Jean who is taller than Mikasa ( 1.75 ) is not so many kilos ( 65 ). With the recent OVA Mikasa's muscular body frame has basically been cannonized after being teased in that one promotional piece showing her abs while stretching with HIstoria. As such, and in order to avoid confusion like with Exodai and San, would it be appropriate to mention this fact in her description section and/or her abilities page like with Levi? Mikasa's Mark

Hello, not a contributre, just a reader. I want to mention that the 'mark' that Mikasa was given by her mother ( http://i.imgur.com/zJxaznel.jpg ) was changed in anime to being an embrodiery in both anime and visual novel that was translated by white flower translation. Small thing and of small importance, but in keeping the wikia professional, thought I would mention it. Scar below her eye

In the article: "Mikasa also has a small scar below her left eye, which she received after Eren in his Titan form plugged the breach in Trost District." Actually, the scar is below her right eye and she received the wound after Eren turned into his Titan form to plug the breach. Here: http://www.onemanga.me/shingeki_no_kyojin/13/6/. If it's no need to be that punctual in the article to tell when she get injureded, the scar is still below her right eye, not left. Just sayin. Or here: "As the mission commences and Eren goes into Titan form, he loses control, attacking Mikasa, and eventually knocking himself out.^[58]^[59]" it could be mentioned. I'm going to ignore the part where you specify how she exactly got the scar because that belongs on the episode page. It seems awkward and out of place so I'm just going to change it to right eye for ya; if you disagree, go ahead and change it to how you like but make sure it sounds okay. what the f*ck is going on?!

I went to a Barnes and Noble, and I flipped through Attack on Titan Volume 14. At the end, I saw Mikasa putting gonna mascara, he hair curled and she was SCARFLESS?!?! I know she takes off when she's hot but Mikasa is definitely NOT hot in the picure. She looks rather ugly, a actually. There was a thing that said "Mikasa is a stylish gal"or something like that, and almost threw up. She looks AWFUL. On the next page it shows shocked Eren and people saying "What have you done?"

That's what I want to know.

Foster or adopted

This conversation comes from the Talk Page of Eren's article, but I decided to move it here since it concerns Mikasa. Kireeti suggested that calling Mikasa the "adoptive sister" of Eren (and adoptive daughter of Grisha and Kalura) it's not appropriate since there is no canon confirmation that she was legally adopted by them, so the proper terms would be "foster sister" and "foster daughter". I think that's right, and I can't remember any time when Mikasa is referred even as Eren's sister (people usually think they're a couple), so it seems there is no way to confirm if they call her "adoptive" or "foster" at least in the manga. However, all the other sites use the term "adoptive", so it's possible that she has been referred to by that term in some extra source (Guidebooks, Isayama's blog, etc), but I can't point to any specific work, so for now, for reasons of accuracy, I think is best to use "foster". I realize this is a bit old, but since no one seems to have answered you and the article says "foster" now, in the official manga guidebook in Mikasa's relationships section her relationship to the Yaegers is listed as "adopted", and she is listed on Eren's page as his "adopted sister". Her page even starts out "As a girl, Mikasa was adopted by the Yaeger family."

Titans killed solo: Mikasa has killed 12 titans solo, instead of 11. I don't know if it's appropriate to link photos here, so i will just mention the pages from the volumes and chapters. In volume 2, chapter 5, page 28, Mikasa gets her first on-screen kill. Same volume, chapter 6, page 32, second kill. All in all, Mikasa kills 4 more titans in volume 2. One in chapter 7, page 20, one in the last page of chapter 8 and two more in chapter 9 pages 14 and 17. 6 kills for volume 2.

In volume 3 she gets a kill in chapter 13, page 27 and she gets one more in chapter 14, page 33. So, that means that she closes the first major arc with 8 kills, not 7. Afterwards, she kills one, while saving Historia in Utgard Castle and 3 more in chapter 124. That's about it concerning her titan kills.

Her human kill count is also higher than listed here. She kills 1 kidnapper, 3 members of the Interior Military Police in chapter 64, pages 24 and 25, and 4 other people in the most recent arc: 2 soldiers of Marley and 2 Yeagerists. This means that she has killed 8 people.

Mikasa's children and life after 3rd Eren's death anniversary

Isn't Mikasa's family from additional 8 pages from volume 34 gonna be added to her family information? And why isn't her life described after 3rd Eren's death anniversary in section Story? The section ends with bird wraping the scarf around her, but there were new panels in additional 8 pages in volume 34 portraying her life after 3rd Eren's death anniversary. I think that might have something to do with the lack of context surrounding those extra panels; exactly who those people are, if the husband is Jean or not, and if the panels are even part of the main story is something that's still actively being discussed (especially since absolutely nothing about them was mentioned in the latest guidebook, when even characters like Historia's husband were talked about). At the moment believe it or not, it would all still be speculative.

If you have new information that the mods don't have if they're canon to the main storyline, and indeed who they actually are, you should share it for the mods. Though if the wording was kept quite vague that might be the best solution. That said I would be very surprised if someone didn't ask Isayama about them soon, which might be what the mods are waiting on.

Yeah might as well wait then I am sure he will be asked about it soon. We should just in my opinion add a summary of the pages at least for now. Kevin ^Talk 17:43, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
