I think Petra's trivia is really interesting, but would somebody mind giving me the chapter und the correct page which proofs all this information? It because I haven't seen even one single page about this...
thanks in advance! 126.96.36.199 01:02, July 4, 2013 (UTC) annonym
Information for Petra's trivia: Chapter 30, I believe it's around page 40. 188.8.131.52 19:11, July 11, 2013 (UTC)
Thank you! I read it but there was no hint of Petra being engaged with Levi... Her father just said that he wanted her to be enganged with somebody. 184.108.40.206 23:08, July 11, 2013 (UTC)
It's all in the subtext.
As the Article says, she was constantly writing him.
Auruo was always trying imitate Levi which disgusted Petra saying they're nothing alike with Auruo replying she's acting as if she is his wife.
When Levi found the dead bodies of his Squad, the sole reaction shown of him about his team was towards Petra and it was also face to face, panel to panel which was also the only one among all 4.Not to mention, Petra was the last one he found. It's a typical Author way to imply importance. Also, please note Levi's reaction when her father mentioned the Marriage.Fyerbrand (talk) 17:56, July 15, 2013 (UTC)
I doubt they were engaged. Petra does seem to have had feelings beyond professional admiration for Levi, but I sincerely doubt there was an actual relationship going on. And since it is a matter of subtext and how you choose to read into those scenes, I don't think it should be stated as a fact.
I completely agree, since it hasn't been clearly stated, this is as subjective as sexual orientation of Reiner and Ymir and therefore has no place in an article, imo. Miskos3Talk 14:43, July 16, 2013 (UTC)
Source for the statements I just edited in are here:
You know why Petra died? Because she was PETRAfied, anyway... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.127.116.11 (talk • contribs)
Yeah, bro. Old jokes are your thing. hfc2X 09:50, December 19, 2013 (UTC)
So what is the final word on this? The tumblr blog post is offline so I cannot look into it myself, but the article itself still makes it seem like she really had feelings toward Levi, although this talk page seems to have concluded with that being false, or at least unproven. NeoSuperior (talk) 06:15, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
I don't know about the blog post, but as for what I get from the original japanese, it's suggested that Petra's dad misunderstood her letters, thinking that "devoting herself to Levi" meant that they were gonna get married, instead of how she was picked as an elite soldier of the Survey Corps meant to devote her life to that cause. Anything regarding her feelings is nothing but speculation based on what her dad said. hfc2X 07:58, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
Well, I heard of a similar translation as the one you are telling. The only difference being, that the father does NOT misunderstand and actually both Levi and Petra's father know that it is just about Petra's young age and her doing something for mankind until she is "old enough" to find a man to marry. i.e. the only ones to "misunderstand" are supposedly other translators. NeoSuperior (talk) 18:45, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
Well, she was a neutral character. But I really didn't like how people think Levi and Petra were in a relationship before. That's absurd. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Titanisia (talk • contribs)
Mother f*ckety f*ck I was in a good mood until I found this wiki page and remembered PETRA IS DEAD *cries* 18.104.22.168 03:55, January 30, 2015 (UTC)Zor
While we appreciate your interest in the series, talk pages are not the place for this kind of discussion. They are here to consider the accuracy of the article and anything falling under that category.--PrelateZeratul (talk) 04:47, January 30, 2015 (UTC)
Please make up your mind about Petra's Statistics. Because I find it really annoyed when it keeps on changing it.Jennicious (talk) 17:00, September 19, 2013 (UTC)
These are the official stats from the guidebook "shingeki no kyojin INSIDE". Here you can find Petra's. Changing it to anything different from the official stats without a proper reason will be considered as vandalism. NeoSuperior (talk) 18:25, September 19, 2013 (UTC)
Her name could actually be "Petra Lahr" or "Petra Rahl". Again, just listing possibilities. NeoSuperior (talk) 10:23, October 4, 2013 (UTC)
Afaik all of the 'official' sources (Kodansha/Funi/Crunchy) used Ral so I don't think there's much room for debate. Miskos3Talk 10:38, October 4, 2013 (UTC)
Her hair looks orange instead of red.Jennicious (talk) 07:41, December 19, 2013 (UTC)
I used to like Petra Ral, but the fandom made me despise her to the deepest depths of the Marianas Trench. Okay bye. 22.214.171.124 06:22, August 17, 2014 (UTC)
The Talk page isn't really an appropriate place for that kind of thing. The Talk page is here for people to discuss the article, such as debating accuracy of an entry or asking relevant questions about a citation. --Harostar (talk) 08:05, August 17, 2014 (UTC)
Went on this wiki to check if it ever mentions where she's from, only to see a mention about her in the manga having 'blonde hair and blue eyes.' This is only half-true. Look at the two covers she appears in; she has blonde hair and the same amber eyes she has in the anime. Not blue. I don't know why people think her eyes are blue in the manga... 126.96.36.199 04:43, March 3, 2015 (UTC)Concerned Wiki-reader?
Why the references do not appear in a tiny cute box like in other articles? How can I change it? It is even necesary to change? What did I do wrong? Raposu (talk) 22:25, April 10, 2015 (UTC)Raposu (talk) 22:26, April 10, 2015 (UTC)Raposu
Thank you. I would be lost on my own :) Also I want to ask if you (and the rest of the people) think that this article has enough references or if it needs more. Thank you again :) Raposu (talk) 22:44, April 10, 2015 (UTC)Raposu
It has enough references to me, maybe the section of Personality would need one or two. Manuel de la Fuente (talk) 19:52, April 11, 2015 (UTC)
I created a template for easy use of that code, just insert this:
She was crushed against a tree by a 14 meter kick. Her body was recovered and then fell from a carriage running at full speed. And nobody passes out with the eyes open. She is pretty dead. --Manuel de la Fuente (talk) 03:23, November 25, 2015 (UTC)
well, when mikasa passed out her eyes were open. If you dont belive me, rewatch the episode. BURN
Again: stomped by a 14 meter giant (which also took a running start before launching the kick), crushed against a tree, falling from a wagon at full speed with an already squashed body... You should be aware that Attack on Titan treats humans in a more realistic way than the rest of mangas/animes. Except Shifters, there are no superhumans here. A real life human couldn't survive to be stomped like a cockroach, thus Petra couldn't either.--Manuel de la Fuente (talk) 14:12, November 25, 2015 (UTC)
well, thank you for ruining my dreams.(sobing)AwesomeJedi1997 (talk) 17:09, November 25, 2015 (UTC)
i can actullay see that happening, like petra only broke her back. I WOULD PAY TO SEE THAT
Ok, so a monster bigger than a T. rex stomps you furiously against a trunk and you only get your back broken? No serious fractures in all your bones, no vital organs squashed like tomatoes? And you somehow survive with your back broken, alone, without food and medical treatment, in the lost territory plagued of Titans? Oh, and after falling from a wagon drawn by frightened horses? Greetings from dream-destroyer. xD --Manuel de la Fuente (talk) 21:04, November 25, 2015 (UTC)
If it makes you feel better, I'm a supporter of Levi x Mikasa (they would be the most badass couple ever!); and I don't think I will see that happening ever either. :( Levi will probably just die bitter and alone. :P
I'm not sure about anyone else, but I think a slightly different image should be used. This is more or less the image currently being used
I'm suggesting we change it to this:
I think the second image looks better, and is a little more descriptive of her personality, as most of the time she's portrayed as a fierce soldier. EternalLocket (talk) 12:08, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, the second image is more colorful, the first one is opaque and somewhat depressive.--Manuel de la Fuente (talk) 15:55, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
Though I do like the color in the second image, she was really portrayed as a motherly and supportive figure to Eren. I feel like the "new" profile image makes her look angry and less loving, and her caring nature was a really big part of her character. --JinxTheFunhouse (talk) 17:08, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
What about this one? It may not be s colorful, but it is less depressing and still shows off her caring nature.--JinxTheFunhouse (talk) 18:21, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
The point was not to upload new images, but make use of the ones we already had. She is first and foremost a soldier, her motherly side is only shown towards Eren, and as such, should not dictate her overall personality. EternalLocket (talk) 19:30, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
I disagree, I think she was always caring and kind, she just didn't let it get in the way of her being a conditioned soldier. That second photo makes her look angry. And if you worry about using up photos we have on the wiki we can always delete them if they're a waste of space or anything --JinxTheFunhouse (talk) 01:18, March 25, 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, I had forgotten this conversation. xD
I'll have to agree with Jinx in this regard. Not because a character is a soldier this means they always have a tough personality, and it seems to me like Petra is essentially a caring person. I'm somewhat inclined to that square second picture, but I'm not sure about that broom. Hopefully we can find a cleaner picture.
And yeah, we should primarily make use of pictures already uploaded to the wiki, but I don't see any problem in uploading a new one if none of the current images is good enough. Once we have chosen the best option we can simply delete the other ones.--Manuel de la Fuente (talk) 14:20, April 6, 2016 (UTC)
