The Beautifiers (ダジャレのススメ Dajare no Susume?) is the 8th and final chapter of the 1st volume and the 8th chapter overall of the Attack on Titan: Junior High manga, written and illustrated by Saki Nakagawa.
Now accepted as part of the Survey Club, Eren excitedly states he cannot wait until after school. However, both Sasha and Connie inform Eren, Mikasa and Armin that the teacher signed them up to be part of the 'Wall beautification Club'. As the express frustration over this, they ask one of the leaders to pretend she never saw their applications. Rico, the leader, refuses and assigns them to clean all the windows on the human school building. As they start cleaning the building, Hange arrives and congratulates them on joining the Beautification Club. When Eren says they were forced to join, Hange dismisses it and says that they must finish their regular club activities or else they face expulsion from the Survey Club or spanked 100 times by Levi. Hange then leaves for the Biology Club and wishes them to do their best.
Two hours pass and Rico comes to check on their progress and is impressed with their work. The first year students are dismayed when Rico has them stay longer to learn some advanced cleaning techniques. Equipping a vertical maneuvering device, Rico flies up the side of the wall and starts to mop and wipe down the side. The first year students are impressed, and Rico assigns them to start learning the next day. All the first years show great promise with the gear except for Eren, who landed on his chin while falling. Rico looks and sees his gear is broken; after sending them home, everyone is surprised when Eren can use the gear fine the following day and they are all certified to use the gear several days later. Eren admits that he did not expect to have a change of heart and wish to stay, and Rico informs them all that she had her doubts about the first year students, but is glad she was proven wrong. However, she inadvertently reveals that the club are essentially just janitors for the school, crushing everyone's spirits.
