I now declare the anti-Titan, 1st year, class 4 band formed!!
The Black School Festival (黒い学園祭Kuroi Gakuen-sai?) is the 1st chapter of the 5th volume and the 33rd chapter overall of the Attack on Titan: Junior High manga, written and illustrated by Saki Nakagawa.
The Culture Festival is approaching and the teacher of Class 4 reveals that every class, in addition to contributing to the festival, must compete in a Battle of the Bands event. Hearing that the winner will be going up against the school's Titan band, Eren immediately volunteers. Will Eren and his determination lead to him forming a successful band?
Summary
Eren arrives at school and notices a large commotion in class; Sasha tells him that the Culture Festival is coming up and they have to decide what to do as a class. Sasha, Connie and Jean dream about what will be at the festival and express their collective excitement. Just then, their teacher comes in and laments about how the festival is coming up.
After some prodding, the teacher reveals that the Culture Festival is also when the school's Battle of the Bands event takes place and that all classes must participate; the winning class will then have to go up against the Titan Band, which have won a similar competition before. Eren immediately volunteers himself to form a band and Mikasa follows suit.
After school, Jean, Connie, Sasha and Armin all volunteer to join as well. Jean soon assumes the take-charge role and begins to assign them all different roles: he assigns Sasha to play the keyboard, Connie on drums, Mikasa as the vocalist and Eren on bass guitar. Mikasa soon intervenes and has Armin take over bass and Jean shares lead guitar duties with Eren. With the band lineup finally formed, Eren gives them the name "The Anti-Titan, 1st Year Class 4 Band" and they begin practicing.
