Sasha demands Connie call her master

Connie finds Sasha practicing archery and is impressed by her skills. Sasha asks him to take a closer look at the target, but he does not notice anything and is simply asked to get the arrow back. Connie pleads her to teach him, but she states a few conditions he must first agree on. First condition is for him to refer to her as "master", which he happily agrees to. As tuition fee, he is expected to give her his dinner's bread, which he initially objects to, but agrees when she settles for half the bread.

Sasha demonstrates her archery stance and asks Connie to observe closely. She takes a shot on target, but Connie is distracted by her top being inside-out and asks her to show her stance again. He now tries it out himself under Sasha's guidance, but cannot help but notice she smells like a baked potato. She pulls out one which she was hiding and comments on him being a sharp student.

Just then, Mikasa and Eren arrive and notice them training. Eren is fascinated by Sasha's skill and pleads to see her shoot. Mikasa insists that he also watch her swing a hoe later, a skill she acquired while farming vegetables on the mountains.

To put Sasha's skill to the test, Eren places an apple on Connie's head but Sasha picks it up and starts eating it.

Later, Sasha finds Connie crying as he is unable to shoot a single arrow straight, and slaps him for giving up on the first day. She encourages him to practice every day, which lifts his spirits up, only for them to be let down when she mentions the monthly tuition fee of ten loaves of bread.
