    • I'd like to propose the image that instantly caught my attention (and almost caused me a stroke :P) when I read the chapter: page 9, Erwin remembering the time when he convinced Levi to continue in the Survey Corps after Farlan and Isabel's deaths.

It may not be most illustrative panel about the events of the chapter itself, but it is undoubtedly the most transcendental for the story as a whole, because it is the first time Isayama makes a connection between the main continuity and the events of No Regrets, finally giving us the confirmation that No Regrets is canon. \o/

We might not have another connection between the two mangas again (unless Levi's past is explored for some reason), so if we are going to feature it, this is the time.

Hopefully, as the Corps continue digging into the origins of the Titans, with the secrets of the basement and the mysteries of the Beast Titan, we could get a connection with Before the Fall and confirm if that spin-off is canon as well.

I was going to suggest the image of Erwin standing atop the bodies of all of those he let die in order to further his own agenda, but your argument kinda swayed me... Plus I never thought Isayama would ever include material written by another author in his own manga (I figured he would use only his own ideas), so it is sort of a big moment for the manga.

    • I was also surprised by the canon connection though I don't feel it reflects the chapter well...

I'm rather fond of page 18 when Reiner has propelled Eren high up into the air because it's a novel way for it to reflect the scale of titan combat.

But my nomination would be page 33 of the thunder spear being propelled for the first time. It's very punchy and dramatic and I have a feeling thunder spears are gonna be a recurring element of AOT in the coming chapters so in a way, this is our first real introduction to their use and it kind of has an iconic styling. So that's my nomination.

    • I vote for either:

      • Erwin on top of the dead soldiers bodies - I knew he felt guilt over his father's death, and after the loss of his arm he began to feel more guilty in general. But I hadn't realized how heavily it weighed on him that so many people died under his command. People pretty much talk crap about him all the time, but it doesn't come close to how he feels about himself. :( Plus that image was an amazing way to illustrate his guilt. It was also nice to know that he considered Mike dead.
      • The Thunder Spears being stabbed through Reiner's eyes. You can't imagine the amount of excitement I felt to see "regular" soldiers finally do some serious damage to Reiner in his Titan form. After a while it gets irritating seeing them stand around watching Eren fight him because they're incapable of doing any damage to him. But now the tables have turned and I look forward to seeing how they deal with Bertolt.

That being said, I am excited that he has finally confirmed in the manga that No Regrets, at least the manga version, is canon. I also hope he eventually ties in Before the Fall. But I didn't find it all that noteworthy, probably due to him having some hand in each mangas' direction. I feel like he eventually planned to tie it in at some point, otherwise he would have let them write it how they wanted.

    • I decided to go with the no regrets suggestion, hopefully I got the image as you imagined it. If not, just update the image with the version you envisioned.
