    • What a chapter. I don't know where to start. Now they reached the borderline, and Armin achieved his dream about seeing the ocean. I was just so happy for the characters. They probably tested Armin's Titan during the 9 months timeskip. We will surely see it in a flashback soon. Now they killed most of the Titans, since the majority was inside Wall Maria. Too bad, they will have a hard time to feed the warriors to any Titans (to make them human and cooperate with them), unless they make any Titan serum, which they probably don't know how to do.

We're getting close to the hometown. I can sense it. Everyone can.

I have a feeling Hitch is gonna die in the upcoming battle with Marley :(

atleast she will be reunited with Marlowe then

I thought it was nice that we got to see a bit more of what happened during that night, I didn't think Grisha actually said anything to them xD I just thought he transformed into his titan form and instantly started killing everyone lol

I can't wait to see what Grisha killing most of the Reiss family will look like in the anime!

    • Well damn, by the looks of it, the vast majority of dumb dumbs are dead, the Survey Corps was able to seemingly move around quite easily outside the wall... by my estimate, that means that one of the main premises of Attack On Titan, that the people of the world within the walls are threatened by extinction is over.

    • -Clap- -Clap- Dear people of the walls which part of don't kill the Titans outside the wall or else your countryman stuck in Marley territory will get mass turned into Titans you did not get? -_-'

Also nobody had the idea of using the North gate? you know the Titans come from the south!

Wanna bet Zeke will try to attack them from North :)

Another applause for Eren "We will be free once we kill them all" congrats you are on the way on becoming what you hate the most by planning to do the same thing the Titan trio did and you don't have the excuse of being brainwashed as child, this will be all by your free will....wrost hero ever...

Let me get this straight, Eren still thinks he would have to sacrifice Historia to get the coordinate to work and we still have a wild Annie stuck in a rock after eleven months...let me guess Annie's crystal will fall apart because Ymir's curse is about to kill her off so they end up feeding her to Historia so they will get a working coordinate and fresh shifter...unless Isayama actually shows Annie ended up turning to ash in a flashback...

Flocke deserves an award for best character ever, he told exactly what was an everyone mind and you can't tell him shit about it.

Now a new dilemma, how the crap are they going to reach Marley? I doubt anyone knows how to build a suitable ship or navigate one in the sea...what are they going to do use the Rogue titan as a submarine? -_-'

    • So no we're at the freaking ocean already? How is that possible? Plus, what's the status of the Corps? Still at less than ten strong?

The ocean, I cannot believe that now we're just suddenly.......There. Did we have any reason to believe that now it was smooth sailing to the coast? The Titans cannot possibly be exterminated in Wall Maria, they've had five years to infest that territory. And the territory between Wall Maria and the coast was not an issue?

This doesn't add up. I would think getting to the ocean would require a few more chapters before we got this scene.

    • Im pretty sure Eren accidentally activates the coordinate when he kisses Historia's hand. I mean im not completely sure, its just those little lightning sparks that appear reminded me of when he did. And It's Historia, so. And that whole part with the medals would of been pointless if that wasnt the reason, the memories I don't think mattered enough for it to have a big long part in the story. I mean I've never seen those lightning sparks besides the time he used the coordinate. And he is talking about sacrificing her to use the coordinate right before, coincidence? Its kinda just a weird theory haha

    • So, with Shiganshina reclaimed and them seeing the ocean, they've achieved two of the biggest goals they've had since the start of the series.

Interesting scene with Grisha. We were kind of lead to assume that he went there with the intention of killing Freida and stealing the Coordinate. Now it looks like he went there peacefully and Freida might have started the fight.

Great chapter overall. I feel like this might be the ending of the Return to Shiganshina arc.

It seems like the Marley were turning people into titans regardless of if they were being killed.

I think it's possible. Judging by the owl's commentary, the population of dumb dumbs in all of Paradis probably was perhaps in the four figures. They made it sound like the Titan guillotine at Trost was running around the clock, let's assume very conservatively that the Titan Guillotine could only strike even just four times in 24 hours (they were using horses to lift up that giant log). Even at that rate, the kill count is over 1000 titans in nine months.

Now, for sake of argument, if we up the guillotine to one kill every hour, add in all the titans that were killed by other things such as the Survey Corps and I presume when the trio cleared the area around Shiganshina, then yeah, it's completely plausible that if the population of dumb dumbs in all of existence is under 10k, then yeah...

And you notice in the few shots we see of the Survey Corps' expedition, they aren't apparently even in a proper long distance scouting formation and it seems like they knew where to go.

      "TL;DR" It's all plausible.

They finally reached the OCEAN!! far earlier than I expected. I guess this is the final time to enjoy their happiness before going into war. Lol Levi "Don't touch it, it might be poisonous", Armin also kinda looked like Uri Reiss in that one panel similing back to Mikasa. Well this is the beginning of the end.

    • Eren still hasn't said anything about how he thinks he may have activated the power of the Progenitor Titan for the first time. I really think he should at least start by talking it out with Historia in private, and they can also test it out in private and see if they can get it to work while she's still just human. If anything, him keeping his mouth shut from everyone in an attempt to protect her and the people she's supposed to govern could backfire and do them more harm than good.

Plus, something tells me she won't even need to be turned into a titan or shifter anyways, as I think it will be not Historia, but Zeke who ultimately helps him out with using the full power of the Progenitor Titan and putting an end to everything. It could be that Historia isn't even a Fritz, but can still help to some extent for being a Reiss, but it's the Fritz line they really need for the full power in the end. Maybe being closely related to that Fritz will also help with tapping into the power, as might that Fritz being not just a mindless titan, but a titan shifter.

Well...it's true, the Marley people will never accept the eldians, the flashbacks alone prove how cruel the marley goverment is towards Eren's people and they used eldians to erradicate them, and are still planning on invading them to kill them once and for all, including those in marley territory, besides he is the hero of the walls and it's doing what's he thinks it's best for his people, besides i can't see a diplomatic or pacific aproach ever working.

We already saw in previous chapters that many people inside the walls were already creating advance tecnology, some flashbacks show the military police killing people that were doing too many advancements, for example, an old man was shown making a revolver when the military police came to kill him, they also killed a couple that made a hot air balloon (which many theorize the couple must be Armin's parents), plus the thunder spears that were created for the survey corps are quite advance, so anything is possible, if anything, i say they are gonna try flying to Marley, it's not like they are planning an invasion in a few months.

      1) The mindless titans are a weapon to Marley, now they have to restock...

      2) True, but there has to be another way, I need to brainstom on that for a while

      3) Flocke may be a coward but he still dragged Edwin ass all over to Levi to get the serum for his commander and fought for him while the 104 either did nothing or tried to steal the serum to save one of their own.

So Flocke may be a coward but he's a loyal one, plus he surely wasn't expected to be used as a meat shield on his first mission so can you blame him for being sour? expecialy since Zeke got away

      4) Those many peole are dead and their invetions lost, I seriously doubt Marley is going to sit on their hands for much longer, unless their waiting for Walled people to do the first move so they can paint them as the Devil children and gain more support.

    • 6 years worth of fighting, only 9 make it out alive.

If isayama is going to draw something he should draw a scene with everyone alive and looking out at the ocean seeing all their hard work pays off, that would the best way to honor those who have fallen

And now that Titans are going extict, the SC should stay at the borderline and ambush any Marley ship that comes. They need to learn everything from them if they want to win the war

Levi is so cool in this scene, i don't know why.

Also it was about time they started to scout again, that's definently the best part of the series for me, started to get a little bored when all the recent chapter have been completely about information.

    • I wonder if the way Eren and Armin are apparently meant to split is because Eren wants to kill every Marleyan like he said in this chapter but Armin doesn't agree with that as he probably wants to find a diplomatic solution to make peace with them and so they have differing ideologies since Eren wants absolute freedom but Armin wants peace but they want to achieve it in different methods so that's how they'll split up?

      1) Yes, but they have been killing titans for 9 months, which mean the marleyans don't know (or care for that matter) how many mindless titans are still "alive", otherwise they would have notice the reduction of titans and started creating more in big numbers, but for that they would have to go all the way to the walls to check if titans are still roaming around, which is dangerous and something obviously they won't do.

      2) It's not like i support the whole "let's kill all the marleyans" idea, but all things considered, it's the most viable solution, if anything, i say they could show mercy (as hard as that can be) and make a peacefull pact among both races, although this can also backfire, if the marleyans are kept alive, they could plan their revenge and the eldians would have to keep them in check, but that would mean keeping the coordinate's power....there are so many problems with a more peacefull route that the genocide way seems like the "better" solution, as horrible as that sound.

      3) Yeah i agree, but then again, Armin showed his worth, after all they finally manage to beat the colosal titan thanks to his sacrifice, so while Erwin seemed like the "best" choise, there's no denying that Armin have potential to become just as good, if not better than Erwin, like Eren said "we don't know what the furute holds", if saving Armin over Erwin was a good choise or not has yet to be seen, and so far, Armin seems to have what it takes to fight (plus, being able to transform into a giant doesn't hurt either)

Honestly, singing up for the sourvey corps mean you automatically become a meat shield, i mean really, everyone inside the walls know this, again, other soldiers joined because of the hype caused by the revolution inside the walls and how the sourvey corps were finally recognized as heroes, they wanted to be a part of that recognition, but they obviously weren't fully commited to the cause, BUT, i do understand why he is upset about the situation.

      4) Actually, that doesn't sound too far fetched, after all their version of history is that eldians are evil, so having the people of the walls attack them would "prove" in their point of view", that they are monstrous creatures that must be erradicated, even though so far they have been the ones doing horrible acts of human cruelty, like torture, feeding and innocent girl to dogs, and even enjoying the act of seeing others being devoured by titans. While i don't think that's what they are expecting to happen, is not an entirely crazy idea.

I know most of the people that created advance technology inside the walls are dead, but that is not a problem anymore, like i said, the thunder spears are quite an advance technology, and even the military police had people working on specifi pieces of tech, like the anti-3DMG that were used against the sourvey corps, and now that there's no limitation, and specially against a powerfull enemy, they can invest on creating as much weapons and invetions as possible, after all 9 months have passed without marleyans invading or sending zeke and a bunch of other titans to erradicate them.

    • The reason that Marley have stopped attacking the Walls (sorry if someone already totally said this- i havent really looked) is because they're rethinking their plans. Marley has taken a giant blow, losing two titan shifters, one, which was very very powerful (colossal). Since they were unable to capture the coordinate (And they THINK Eren can use it) and they failed in their plans of destroying the walls, Im guessing a full scale invasion would take place. Since all the Titans are dead, it wont be harder for them to invade, the only threat for them are the wall titans, which luckily for the people in the walls, they cannot use yet (or we think they cant- maybe in the half a year cut they found out?)  But these kinds of plans take a long time to make, thats why they havent been doing anything, and the reason that there arent any more new titans is probably because the Marley are now using Eldians are workers instead of titans, since they will need to make a lot more war weapons. sorry again if someone already said this

    • in my opinion the marley people have absolutely no chance of winning. the Marley have higher levels of technology but that is irrelivant when the Eldian's have two powerful shifter's  on top of that the survey corp are skilled in killing titans. which presumably the marley people were not skilled in. but we also have no idea what type of inivation the eldians inside the wall have made since finding out the truth.  Eren has all the memories of his father and as such knows about the technology the marley people have and there are people inside the wall who could possibly replicate that technology.

Eren's father memory is twenty years old, I wouldn't count on that to estimate the enemy now...and just because I saw a gun that doesn't mean I can build a gun.

Two powerful shifters? Eren barely wins by himself, can praticaly only beat Reiner and only because the author powered him up. Armin has the smarts but gets beat up by breathing on him, I doubt he can even hold his titan form more then five minutes.

Marley on the other hand has five experienced shifters plus a whole army...

I think Eren touching her hand triggers memories, not the coordinate power. It's the same thing that happens with Historia and Rod in the Reiss chapel. To unlock the coordinate, he needs to touch a royal Titan, which is why he fears for her safety. The military, especially Zackly, may consider this a viable option.
