  • This week in April, I heard the quote: "One believes things because one has been conditioned to believe them." It's from Brave New World, and all I'm asking is if it might've had something to do with Zeke becoming the bad guy that he is?

His parents raise him to believe one thing, and someone brainwashes him to believe something else entirely.

    Anyone?

    • I think he rejected his parents teachings because deep down he felt like they didn't love him as their son. As Grisha states when he is recounting his tale he never treated Zeke like a son. He only treated him as a way of restoring Eldia which to be fair isn't a bad goal by any stretch of the imagination but the way he goes about doing it is what ulitimately brings about his downfall and the destruction of the Eldia Restorationists. Currently Zeke is shown to be alot more insightful than the remainder of the warriors in Marley most likely due to him having more experience. But as to whether he believes in the Marleyean propaganda or not. I would say not. Unlike most of the eldians living in Marley he doesn't pivot to the propaganda of self hate most of the eldians do whenever their beliefs are questioned which is why I personally like him. I dont think Zeke looks down on himself or even gives a shit about Marley or Eldia. He just prentends to be an obident eldian because thats whats expected of him. I think what is planned for him is to prioritize his relationship with Eren and "saving him". Whatever that means. Hope we find out soon since his time is running out.

    • Only time will tell what happens.

Thank you for replying to my thread; to be honest, I had forgotten about this.

    • I hope we get more insight on Zeke and proably at least one more battle with him against either Levi or Eren, depending.

    • If Levi and Zeke go at it again theres a good probability that one of them will not walk away from that alive since Levi has already proven that he is able to defeat the Beast Titan as long as its from close range and is able to take him by purprise. As for Zeke vs Eren I think that would result in Eren's victory. i'm not saying that because I think Eren is a better fighter by any stretch of the imagination. I say that because he's the main character and like most animes the writers love to suck the dick of the main character reguardless of how much it conflicts with the actual story. But anyway I think what would happen is you would get a repeat of what happened with Eren and Dina. Eren makes contact with Zeke and his royal blood. Activates the founding titan. Zeke gets devoured. Something along those lines. So yeah... Things wouldnt look good for Zeke either way.

Remember the fighting in this series simply isn't just pounding someone to the ground, there is some skill/technique involved and of course, strategy. However if say Zeke inadvertently activates the Founding Titans power within Eren, doesn't he need to be nearby the walls to release the Wall Titans?

    • It could simply be regular titans that are have been turned from eldians. If there was enough of them. Since we haven't seen Eren create titans from subjects of ymir its a question as to whether he'd be able to do it with the Founding titan through contact with Zeke but as far as technique and skill no I feel like there are many times where they simply ignore those facts and give Eren the win. His battles with Annie and Reiner are perfect examples. All too often Eren somehow manages to get the upper hand on the Warriors despite being the ones who taught Eren the techniques he uses. By that logic he shouldn't be anywhere close to being on their level considering they've had more time with their titans, much more experience and have endured trainign for a signifigantly longer time then Eren. But no. It doesnt matter. Eren wins. Because.... Logic?

    • If it is a battle between the Beast Titan and the Rogue/Attack Titan, the Rogue/Attack Titan is the one that truly fights for freedom and deserves to win.
