    • amazing chapter as always!

Reiner's expressions throughout the entire chapter were amazing xD Eren really learned how to threaten people though...truly an Eldian devil ;)

I did not see the thing about King Fritz coming at all. I'm really curious about what other secrets Willy might know and what other things he might say at the festival

I would be really surprised if it turns out Zeke isn't working with Eren or atleast someone in secret, he has been acting so suspiciously ever since this arc started!

Falco...I feel so sorry for him. He thought he was doing the right thing by reuniting two old friends, but it turns out that he just brought Reiner to Eren who knew Reiner from four/five years ago on Paradis...I hope Falco won't get hurt. I don't think Eren would be that cruel. I hope not atleast.

Pieck and Porco fell for a trap, I wonder who the person was who told them to follow him, maybe someone who is working with Eren?

I really liked that the chapter started with a short flashback of Reiner, Bertolt and Annie, I hope we'll get some more flashbacks of them. There seems to be more to the story about the old man who hung himself, this is like the second time it has been brought up...hmmm..

Anyway, the next chapter is chapter 100 and I think it's going to be just as amazing as chapter 50 if not better (aka the season 2 finale/episode 12 of the anime). I'm really hoping that Eren will use the Coordinate again! :D (Colossal nuke incoming?)

I loved this chapter and I can't wait for the next one. I really can't XD Everything is about to go down, I can feel it!

      Thank you for reading! :)

    • Willy has begun to answer to everyone's questions, can't wait to see him further explaining himself about how he'd deal with Eren.

I loved Reiner's reaction when he was talking with Eren, and the "Do what he says." to Falco, it just adds a little bit more of drama.

Seeing Pieck intereacting with her successor intrigues me. We've seen the relations between Zeke and Colt, Reiner and the cadets, so now I'm curious about Porco and whoever might be chosen to inherit of the Jaw (but since he got it max. 4 years ago I guess there's no rush)

    • I think the Eldians of Paradis are going to attack in the next chapter.I mean, why else would they neutralize the titan shifters? This pretty much proves that Zeke is on their side.

As for those soldiers Pieck greeted, I don't think they're Eldians, since none of them are wearing armbands on their left bicep. I think they're the gunmen that were shooting from the top of her Cart Titan during the Mid-East War. The reason she hugged one of them is because she realized that the soldier leading her and Porco was an Eldian from Paradis she fought against during the Battle of Shigashina, most likely either Connie or Armin, based on their facial features. She did it so he wouldn't see her whispering to Pancherdae that they were being lead to a trap.

Eren is really different from before. Definitely more cynical. He seemed to sympathize with both Reiner and Falco, but when he answered Reiner's question with "The same reason as you. I can't help it.", and that intense expression he had, I think he was implying the time when Reiner broke down the inner gate of Wall Maria and infiltrated them with the other Warriors, causing many people to die. I think this especially proves that the Paradis Eldians plan to attack, which will cause people to die. I think it showed that Eren himself felt anguish over it, and finally truly understood Reiner's perspective.

    • I can't help wondering if the mystery officer leading Pieck and Porco away is another of the 104th since Pieck thinks she recognizes him, but can't place him. Maybe Jean?  Granted, Connie and Armin could coceivably get more narrow faces as they get older.

Pieck definitely knew something was going on, and seeing her meet her gun crew was cute.  I imagine they would have to be pretty close knit, racial relationships notwithstanding, since she carries them into battle and they shoto down her enemies.

I also really liked hearing the story from Willy about the reason for the first king's vow and how sad he felt.  A lot of my edits on this wiki involve the Uprising arc so I'm constantly rereading it.  I remember how Uri was so sad about not being able to create the paradise he wanted, and now I know where that sadness comes from.

    • Well I must say I'm impressed once again by the story. I love where it's going. Annie May still be alive as we finally get a glimpse of her father. The reason I lowered the percentage of her being dead was due to Eren's encounter of Reiner in the previous chapter. He was not angry or anything. But I want everyone to look at the Helos actor as it resembles Mikasa. I don't think it's Jean. I can't wait to create the percentages for this chapter by the end of the month it will be great to do that. I like that Pieck told the soldier who trapped her that he had a nice beard. However I might be the only person on this wiki who wants Pieck dead. She has the Cart Titan and I work as a Cart Retriever and she reminds me of the bad days on the job. Anyways we should have a party on the discord for chapter 100 keep reading the chapter and anayalzing it. See ya next month!

    • Eren's evolution:

1- A little baby, whose mother thinks he's the cutest in the world.

2- A brave, and short tempered kid, who has nothing except revenge on his mind.

3- A strong, caring friend, who is still short on temper.

After this, all changed. his heartache increased. He came to know that he was killing his own people. He killed his father. He indirectly killed Bertholt, who had been through hell his whole life. He then came to know his father's painful past. Just think, a person gaining so much knowledge about the world, and all so painful. He knew that he had sinned so much, I don't think someone could forgive himself so easily. As he changed, his calm enhanced. He became mature, and accepted the world as it is.

4- A calm teen, who wants to wipe his ememies, whoever they may be, off the map.

5- An adult spy, whose speeches can inspire a person who initially had lost all hope, a person who doesn't even care if the world becomes his ememy.

The main event in Chapter 99 : Eren gets declared an ememy of mankind.

    • And it's pretty much (80%) true that the trapdoor guy is Armin, if he is with Eren in this mashup, looking at his combined facial features.

Why does he look tall? SIDE EFFECT OF COLOSSAL TITAN POWER (Same happened with Bert)

        Loading editor
    • The reason I'm inclined to believe it's Jean rather than Armin is because Pieck says he's familiar. Armin was crispy and in all likelihood unrecognizable when Pieck saw him (since he just had his full body cooked by Bertolt).

With our mystery soldier, Pieck focuses on the facial hair, implying that if not for that, she probably would recognize him. If it was Armin, just having skin would be enough to make him look different to her. A beard would not be required.

Though Connie is also possible if we assume the soldier is from the 104th, he was off to the side and she might not have looked at him.

But Jean was directly in Pieck's way when he rescued Hange, and he was facing towards her when he did it. She definitely would have seen his face.

        Loading editor
    • The height makes me think of Jean, but the rounded face makes my mind wander to Armin and Connie. We mustn't forget that Pieck had served as Zeke's scout in the Battle of Shiganshina, so she had probably seen all of the 104th graduates.

The height difference seems to be just a bit too massive to be Connie. I mean, the soldier stood over half a head above Porco. That means the soldier was at least a 190 cm tall. So perhaps its Armin, with the increased height being a side-effect of having the Colossal Titan, though the other shifters haven't really experienced any such side-effects themselves, that we know of at least, though Eren does have great physical strength.

        Loading editor
    • Pieck didn't see everyone up close while scouting though.  You're not going to remember faces when there are 100+ people in a formation that you are observing from a distance.

Remember how close Annie had to get to identify Armin. She was almost on top of him before his hood fell over his head and she had to remove it. Which means that even without the hood she had to be very close. Unless Pieck's Cart Titan has binocular eyes, the only time she's close enough to Armin's face is when his skin's burned off.

Interesting point about the height. Connie is 158cm (5'2"), Armin is 163cm (5'4"), and Jean is 175cm (5'9") in the year 850.  Using Porco for reference, he is also 175cm (5'9"), but his data is current for the year 854. Pieck is 155cm (5'1").

Assuming Isayama didn't whiff the height while drawing those panels, the soldier guiding Porco and Pieck is taller than all the 104th were in 850. Being teenagers, it wouldn't be surprising if Connie, Armin, and Jean grew a little more over the time skip (Reiner gained 3cm), but it shouldn't be much. If we assume the soldier is around 190cm and not using platform boots of some kind, he's taller than any of them realistically should have grown in four years. Even for Jean that would be a stretch.

And I don't think Armin would have gotten really tall because of his Titan. Bert was small when he got the Colossus, but he was also a kid. His growth between receiving the Titan and 850 is easy to explain. He went through puberty and had his growth spurt. There's nothing to say his height is unnatural.

      Connie & Sasha?

        Loading editor
    • It's true that the height difference seems too big, even for Jean, but this is a manga, not real life. Yes, Isayama is very realistic when it comes to these things, but he admitted that not all things are realistic in this story.

For example, he admitted that a girl of Mikasa's frame and height wouldn't actually weigh 68 kg, it would simply be physically impossible. Kenny is a similar example, being tall but slim, yet he weighed 120 kg. Another example are the warrior cadets, who range between 138 and 146 cm, and yet, the average height for twelve year-olds, both male and female, is 155 cm. AND some of them should be about the same height as Eren and Mikasa by the time they reach 15, which is 170 cm. A 30 cm height difference in three years, even for those on the cusp of puberty is nigh impossible.

In reality, most males don't grow further than 5-7 cm after they reach the age of fifteen, and by the time they're seventeen, they're pretty much done growing. But Eren looks to be at the very least 180 cm, comparing him to Reiner when they're both seated. Manga and anime, in particular, tend to make growth spurts come a little later in life, to clearly identify the teenage protagonists from the adults, and not make them appear too adult-like. Some laws of nature are very clearly being broken in the story because, as I said, it's just a story, so I believe it's very possible that either Connie or Armin are the mystery soldier. It's not guaranteed, of course, but I'm just throwing it out there.

        Loading editor
    • I'd buy into the anime late growth spurt consideration more if Reiner also had a large growth spurt, but he only grew by 3cm. Yes, he's two years older than Eren and co. so he should grow less, but most readers won't know the that off the top of their heads (and as you said, anime teenagers tend to be exempt, so being 17 in 850 wouldn't stop a spurt if Isayama wanted it).  And visually it would be weird if Reiner grew 3cm and someone like Armin grew 27cm.

At that point it would be distracting enough that the characters would have to comment on it because the reader would notice.  Unless it's a plot point, it doesn't seem like something worth the panel space.

I suspect everyone in the 104th grew, but the height differences will be similar so when readers see them together again they will be able to tell at a glance who's who. Armin and Connie will still be on the short side, Eren in the middle, and Jean on the taller end (and I suppose for that reason, even if it's a ridiculous growth, I'll buy Jean hitting 190cm before the others, because if he's taller it won't change the visual look between him and the other members of the 104th by much, especially with Bert gone).

    • What's  Eren planning to? A revolution?

        Loading editor
    • As we all said on the discord chat, let's not rely on the height so heavily. The height of the characters isn't always consistent :P Going by looks alone I said it's Connie. Whilst reading I knew that soldier had to be someone significant and from Paradis. I first thought Armin but I thought he didn't resemble Armin at all. Then I had to remind myself of all the male SC members and I literally gasped and said "Connie"! Haha, at least that's my reasoning since that realisation hit me so suddenly.

    • Nope, not a revolution. He is gonna use the founding Titan. He cut his hand and didn’t transform, so he is planning to access a non Titan ability, which is probably nothing other than Coordinate.

    • Question : SInce we saw Annie's dad has a cane because of his injury who were introduced in the spinoff Lost Girls does it mean that Wall Sina Goodbye is canon ?

        Loading editor
    • Not sure if Lost Girls will be considered canon in the manga, though it will be canon in the anime once the OVAs are released. This may be Isayama's way of leaving it open to possibility for him to confirm it later.

        Loading editor
    • Lost Girls is pretty much canon in manga. It will soon become canon in anime too.

        Loading editor
    • We'd need confirmation from Isayama in an interview or something similar to consider Lost Girls a spinoff on the same canon level as No Regrets. Isayama's writings have shown similarities to spinoff content before without confirming canonicity itself, such as entries related to iron bamboo and iceburst stones in the Attack on Titan Guidebook.

        Loading editor
    • When did exactly it was stated that No Regrets was on a different level than Lost Girls ? Because the only things I remember who get it his place in the canon is a scene show in RtS who depicted a scene of the spinoff, but like for Mr Leonhart's cane, outside of the context of No Regrets this scene make no sense.

Sorry if I look like an ass, it's not really what I want...but I found strange that both spinoff are referenced in the manga (albeit really discretly for Lost Girl), both will get OVA, but they are on different level of canonicity...

I will even add (even if it's more nitpicking than any real argument) that in the promo of Lost Girl the main argument of Annie was that her story happened in the manga unlike Mikasa (but since it's an advertising, it should be treated carefully) Here

        Loading editor
    • I guess since No Regrets got its OVA and most people got into the manga after they saw the anime they must have assumed No Regrets was a canon story.

        Loading editor
    • The Lost Girls advertisement doesn't say it happened in the manga. It says "Annie's story is the clear winner here, since [. . .] happened in the story after all". To me, also considering Jean's reaction, this looks like she's spoiling her own story and is referencing something that "happened in the story" rather than suggesting it's canon to Isayama's manga.

No Regrets is more or less considered canon since Isayama has shown it his approval in interviews, his free time artwork, and brief refereces in RtS as you mentioned. So far, Lost Girls hasn't gotten that treatment yet.

I can see Lost Girls being declared canon more definitively in Isayama's manga in the future though. There's a difference between not being acknowledged as canon and openly being acknowledged as non-canon.

    • In regards to the soldier whom cut the rope on Pieck and Porco, I thought it could be one of two people: Jean, or perhaps even Floch? This is just going by the facial shape and hair. The actor is drawn in multiple panels to be roughly equal in height to Willy (who appears to be roughly 5'7"-5'8" when standing next to Magath), so the actor has at least 4 inches on Levi. Best bets are either Mikasa or Jean (I should also note that in official scans from Kodansha, the actor looks, in my opinion, somewhat feminine in the closeup panel).

The hair in the back does not convince me that it's Jean why the hell would he even be on the stage with Willy. Also you cannot see the scar that Mikasa has on her face because the hat is covering the area of the face that is located. Here's the question we need to ask why does Hajime need to cover that part of the face like that? Could he be... hiding something?

I was the first to notice that it might be her but what I want to know is what is she gonna do when it begins. Search for Magath and kill him or maybe hold Reiners mother hostage or kill the parents of the warriors. To be honest I want to see Mikasa kill a character and be satisfied with it. Basically I want her to be Yuno from Future Diary and actually kill people. Also another thing is bugging me: who else is there. Titans are lighter than they look. Hange mentioned it in Season 1 when talking to Eren after arriving at the castle. It makes sense for Reiner to be able to lift a smaller one, though it was a struggle. Pieck finds it more natural to walk on all fours due to having spent two months being in her titan form; basically, it was due to habit.

Pieck finds it more natural to walk on all fours due to having spent two months being in her titan form; basically, it was due to habit.

I was referring to the fact that Reiner got his arm bitten and yet the titan couldn't tear it apart
