With all the comments already made, I know this'll sound redundant, but the best part about the Uprising Arc, in my opinion, had been the politics, dialogue, and moral dilemmas. I'm afraid that the anime will depict the Arc more morally straightforward ( a bummer, personally speaking), that many of the conversations that humanized dislikable characters would be written off, and that the politics will be a simplistic bore, all because it isn't 'exciting' enough. They'd already done it in the previous seasons, and I was disappointed on several occasions.

Eren and Historia are kidnapped already? Because in the manga, the ambush only happened after SC cooperate with the Reeves, Capture some MPs 1st brigade, and learned Historia's high status. Which didn't happen in the anime (yet?) Please correct me, I'm a bit confused to the change they made in the anime.
SPOILER: If the Reeves company wasn't going to be involved in the coup, I think they would have been replaced with generic goons. Why bother introducing Flegel if his only narrative purpose is to get spin kicked by Mikasa and then we never see him again? The Reeves company getting bullied by the government into doing its dirty work is part of what turns the people of Trost against the government, and seeing that bullying in action is what drives the Berg Newspapers to report the truth. The order of events has been shifted around, but there are still things the Reeves company can and did help with, such as kidnapping Sannes. It's from his interrogation that we learn the Reiss family is the true royal family. Maybe Reeves can't bait them with Eren anymore, but the scriptwriters could come up with another excuse for him to meet Sannes to allow kidnapping to ensue.
Exactly right. Having an action-packed first episode helps draw in new viewers and keeps the interest for returning viewers. Plus, the directors mentioned in a recent interview that there will be flashbacks in future episodes to flesh out the story in this arc.

SPOILER: Looking forward to meet the huge as hell crawler :)
SPOILER: The Reeve's Family is still present, with the father and his son being involved in the initial kidnapping of Eren and Historia (Jean and Armin). His son is the orange-haired guy that fumbles with his gun at the sighting of Mikasa.
This was an ok episode in my opinion as it was mostly good but also had some easy to spot issues.
- I agree with everyone here that the events were a little rushed as even though Uprising is my least favourite arc I still feel that the stuff this episode skipped over is still vital to understanding events and characters later on. So hopefully they just restructured the event order or they are revisited via flashbacks which is a tad clunky but better than skipping it entirely.
- The best scene of the episode for me was Hange's deduction of Nick's murder at the hands of Sannes as it was pretty cool to see Hange use her intelligence and odd personality to break through Sanne's lies and find physical evidence of the torture (even better in animated form than on the page IMO) + the music, composition, VA, and cinematography were excellent in this scene.
- Kenny's ambush being moved up was unexpected and a tad too early but I'm still pretty stoked to see the upcoming fight animated as that was one of my favourite parts in the Uprising manga arc.
- The OP is probably my least favourite of the 4 AOT OPs as it was a bit basic for my taste (Images, animation etc.) and it felt like it would have worked better elsewhere but the song itself was well sung and nicely composed.
- The training scene was a little too short for my taste as it skipped over a lot of details but it's nice to see Eren's Cronenberg scene made the jump (I love body horror).
- The opening scene was solid as its nice to get a breather before things start ramping up and the voice actors (Japanese, I watch the show with subs) have quite a bit of chemistry with each other so I found it enjoyable.
- The worst individual scene for me was Armin getting molested by Dimo Reeves as I found that scene hard to take seriously in the manga and it was nearly as bad here (Jean's VA's dead pan reaction came close to making it bearable though).
- The weakest aspect of this outing was definitely it's pacing as it did run a little too quickly which is kinda funny as the reason why Uprising is my least favourite arc in the manga is it's sluggish pacing but here it was almost like they went to the opposite extreme to try and fix that issue but hopefully they find a happy medium as they go along.
The new episode is tomorrow, right ?
Yep, every sunday there is a new episode.

Actually the guy who was molesting Armin wasn't Dimo Reeves, his henchmen rather.

huh odd I always thought it was him because I swear that he mocks Armin in the manga's equivalent scene by saying that he's not normal anymore (or something like that) but still a really strange scene to keep around nonetheless.
