    • OP wasn't that bad.  ED was straight trash.  The episode was decent, but not decent enough to make us wait 6 months.  Overall I enjoyed it, but that could be due to my nostalga boner for the RtS arc.

SPOILER: OP was filled with spoilers but that's okay because I read the manga

    • That was nice, it reminded me a lot of the chapter it's based on (perhaps it means little direction to me. Though Eren atop the Wall was awesome, I was rooting for him lel) Glad to have it back, now let the party begin!

Glad to have Linked Horizon and Cinema Staff for the music. Not as good as the previouses, but it does the job.

    • It's looking like the anime is going to be adapting at a pace of around 2 chapters per one episode (at least as long as the battle goes. The pace might change once we get into the meatier chapters). The episode was okay, I guess. I'm just glad they didn't cut any of Dirk's scenes.

I don't really like the new OP at all. It sounds like a Dollar Tree discount of literally every LH OP that came before it. I do like the ED, though. I was hoping for a high energy rock ending like Great Escape since Cinema Staff is returning, but I think the melancholic feel of it works well when played alongside the 104th scenes. And even without the visuals, there's nothing wrong with a nice slow song every now and again.

finally attack on titan has returned!!!

    • SPOILER: This was okay, not the strongest premiere but the last 5 minutes were pretty awesome with the beast titan, armored titan and other titans team up in a suprise attack. And Idk if anyone noticed but cart titan was in the background so that was cool. And I guess I was smart enough to watch the intro cause you can see what Im assuming is tease images of what is to come. Im upset though at how there are only 9 episodes left of this season and that we have to wait all those weeks. I wish it was like a netflix show where it was all released at once. Plus Im afraid they arent going to get renewed for season 4. Hopefully they do though.

Why do you think they're not going to get renewed for a 4th season?

    • i am disappointed in the op but the episode overall was very good

    • Neither OP nor ED song are good. I hope they stop censor it, like SPOILER: the sword that blocking the scene when Levi attacked Reiner, I can see it better in manga. And they don't show SPOILER: Levi's expression when he failed to kill Reiner. But the epic part in this ep, SPOILER: when they stood up by their horses, 3D manuevering, then eren's part with the song playing, that's the best part.

If WIT doesn't renew AoT someone else will.  Let's hope someone else is incharge of the last season because WIT isn't living up to the standards of the 1st and 2nd season

        Loading editor
    • i dont know what wit is, im assuming its the company that owns the anime?

        Loading editor
    • Wit is the animation studio. And Attack on Titan is very popular. It's been one of the most anticipated shows both inside and outside of Japan for this spring. Unless Wit completely botches the second half of Season 3, there's no reason to think they won't bring a popular series back for another season.

      As for my own impressions:

OP felt like Linked Horizon phoned it in. It didn't feel like an original piece so much as a remix of what they've already done. The ED is actually the first AoT ending credits I really like, and I especially like the visuals since they focus on the 104th and all the happier times before it's come to most of them fighting Reiner, Bert, and Annie.

The episode itself was a solid adaptation. Not particularly inspired, but did what it needed to do translating the manga to anime. I'm glad Dirk got a lot of screen time since it's easy to cut out side characters, and it's clear Erwin has some confidence in him if he's one of the officers he keeps by his side.

What are you talking about? WIT is always improving every season. I am sure AoT won't just end without any closure However the manga is still ongoing. Although it is common among anime that they just end on a cliffhanger thats it.

    • i liked the op. I hope LH comes back for season 4 especially since it's likely gonna be the final season. I feel like they're just paying homage to everything that they've done cause next season will be something completely new. Also, the thought of LH not coming back for s4 makes me sad cause I love what they've done for this series

Season 4 won't be the final season unless it's gonna be as long if not longer than Death note's season

    • Well regardless I just don't want LH leaving

How long was Death Note like 50 episodes?

    • Death Note was a total 37 episodes. Attack on Titan passed DN's episode count as soon as Season 3 started.

That's not what I meant.  If the next season is gonna be the last season then it would be longer than Death Note's run

    • I thought the animation was really good.

I didn't feel the tension that the other characters were feeling though becasue of the big break between S3 pt I and S3 pt II. I'm up-to-date and keeping up with the manga, so I kind of forgot where we last left off in the anime.

-Eren re-sealing the wall seemed a little anticlimactic.

-Levi charging Reiner and running him down the wall was awesome-looking. I didn't get his question about "is this another Titan power" in reference to Reiner. Was he shocked that Reiner didn't die from getting a blade half-way into his neck? Or was it something else that I missed? Because they already knew that Eren can regrow limbs and teeth. They saw Reiner lose a hand, and Bertholdt get his throat slashed. Why would THIS surprise Levi?

-The Beast Titan and the other titans he brought with him looked less intimidating and less disturbing with the glowing red eyes. Their creepiness was that they had these dumb/childlike expressions.

Overall all though, a solid episode, and I'm glad the series is back.

      Anime only here:

I think Levi thought Reiner some how revived or came back to live after the second stabbing he was supposed to be dead.

    • Where did all the titans come from? I'm pretty sure all humans there have been dead for years, and all these titans suddenly appear out of thin air...

Can the Beast titan resurrect the dead or spawn titan's out of thin air? How??

Also i found this a very weak episode... I mean… It acts like there was never a 6months+ break and it suddenly start this epic music and stuff with barely any context.

Reiner, Bertholdt, Beastitan were never even mentioned by the main cast in part 1 AFAIK and suddenly it's all about them again. Makes it seem like part 1 was pure filler. I just found it to be a weird transition.

Well that's also something I was asking myself (since the manga, I didn't wait for the anime to ask myself this). I suppose that some people were disposed here right after the Scouts reached Shiganshina... But how did they disposed people without being seen by the Scouts on the wall? Well... I think it's a little plothole. There are a few in the manga/anime.
